How Serious Are You About Your Success?

How serious are you about your success?

In the midst of life, there is death. The death of Michael Jackson at age 50

reminded us of this. The world was presented with the greatness of Michael

Jackson through the media, for at least 48 hours after his sudden death. What

an outpouring of his acknowledgment.

As I looked at his several performances on the television and on the web,

something struck me like a bolt of lightening. While from an early age it is clear

that he had raw talent, that innate ability was nurtured, developed, and sustained

through rigorous PREPARATION. Michael alluded to this when he said

how sad he was that he could not go out to play in the Park as other children

did, since he was required to practice, and prepare his craft. The superb dance

performances could not be executed by Michael had he not had massive preparation.

Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance—the 5Ps of excellence.

I reflected on my own life, and concluded that perhaps I could have accomplished

more had I nurtured my inborn talents through greater preparation. I have

decided to put greater effort and preparation in the use of my talents. What about

you? Are you working your talents as assiduously as you could? You alone can

answer that question. It is not too late to take some corrective action. Remember

that the measure of your success is a function of your PREPARATION.

Michael Jackson was not perfect. Not one of us is perfect. One lesson to be

learnt from the death of Michael Jackson is that life is to be lived, making full

use of your unique talents for the benefit of others. Resolve today to do a little

more to polish your talents. Prepare for your brilliance to shine more, by giving

quality PREPARATION time to manifest your greatness. You have a contribution

to make to society in your own special way. Honor it.
