Nurture Your Unique Talents
You
undoubtedly admire international and national icons. They
exude
positive energy. However, each icon is special, but cannot
excel in
all fields. For example, Roger Federer, male tennis
champion,
cannot excel in boxing. Tiger Woods, golf master,
cannot
excel in cricket. Brian Lara, world cricket champion cannot
excel in
football. Serena Williams, ladies tennis champion,
cannot
excel in ice skating. Hasley Crawford, Trinidad and
Tobago’s
only Olympic Gold Medalist, cannot excel in football.
President
Barack Obama, the great politician, cannot excel in
baseball.
The common factor is that each icon nurtured and
developed
his or her special skill.
What
about you? What is your special skill or talent? How
serious
are you about developing that gift you have been given.
Each of
us has a special part to play in the design of the Universe.
Ensure
that you play your part well. Reflect and identify the
area that
people praise you for most. Resolve to develop your
gift to
its fullest. What you have to contribute to society is
important.
Every piece of the puzzle of life is important
to the
final solution.
Your
contribution is important. Raise your stakes. Act with
courage
and thoroughness. Your unique contribution may not
appear
important, but it is. A little salt may not appear important
but it
makes all the difference to the final taste of the food.
So too is
your contribution to society.
You may
ask what can I contribute? Your contribution is to
develop
fully whatever you are best at doing. It may be your
career,
family, sports, spirituality, caring for others, or
whatever
it is that you excel in. Step up to the plate.
Believe
in yourself. Know that you have untold unused
potential.
Awake and let your brilliance shine. Polish the
diamond
that is within you. You can do it. Think your
uplifting
thoughts, and act with intentionality to achieve
your dreams,
while fulfilling your life’s destiny.
You have a special contribution to make to the world. Find it, and make it.
